MFB Wheelers Hill Fire Station

The new 24 hour replacement fire station on the existing site is a modern innovative facility for the provision of fire fighting services for the developing community.

Incorporating environmental initiatives including thermal chimneys, rainwater harvesting, solar panels and passive solar design principles, the fire station includes operational and training functional facilities for fire fighters. The linear massing of forms and use of lightweight wall panels, glazed windows and lift up doors provides a contemporary example of sustainable architecture.
