The Geelong Hospital

Located on the existing Geelong Hospital site is a 39 bed residential care unit for adult acute accommodation, low dependency, high dependency and extended care accommodation in a single storey development.

The design required integration of new facilities with the retention of the former 2 storey brick school building refurbished throughout to include reception, admissions/crisis assessment, ECT suite, day treatment centre, client accommodation areas, administration, medical records and shared facilities.

Externally the building's architectural expression is domestic in scale and nature to integrate with the surroundings, with its orientation to maximise passive solar design to shared communal living areas.
