St. Catherines School Sports & Aquatic Centre, Toorak
Project Cost $8.0 million
Commenced construction in September, 2009, the new indoor aquatic centre comprises of a 25m, 6 lane pool with 1m diving board, 5m learners pool, change rooms, office, general purpose classroom, exercise room and a new underground car park linked to the existing car park.
A feature of the design is the continuous tiered seating for 350 students including full height sloping glazed wall. Two continuous double glazed atrium roof lights flood the Pool Hall with natural light.
ESD initiatives include 400,000 litre underground rainwater storage flushing for pool backup, double glazing, sun shading and insulated precast panel walls.
